Oro's Strike Indicators - Why we made the switch!

We have carried Oro's Strike Indicators for well over a year now and they have become our go to for all our indicator fishing needs. Oro's are a type of fly fishing strike indicator that is made from foam and designed to be extremely buoyant and sensitive. Here's everything you need to know about Oros Strike Indicators:

    1. Design: Oros Strike Indicators are made from closed-cell foam, which makes them very buoyant and able to float high on the surface of the water. They are designed with a circular shape that helps reduce drag and improve casting accuracy.  The indicators come in a variety of colors, including fluorescent orange, pink, white and red/white, which makes them easy to see on the water.

    2. Sensitive: Oros Strike Indicators are known for their sensitivity, which is one of their biggest advantages over other types of strike indicators. The foam material used in the indicators is very responsive to even the slightest movements in the water, which means that anglers can detect even the most subtle strikes from fish.

    3. Easy to Use: This is where Oros Strike surpass the rest. These Indicators are very easy to attach to your leader to, using a simple two part connection with enclosed fastening hardware. When closed, the foam compress creating a pressure fit lock that keeps it on the line and in place. Large screw threads make securing it to the line effortless and does not come undone while fishing. They can be adjusted quickly and easily to different depths and can be moved up and down your leader without causing any damage to your leader or the indicator.

    4. Durable: Oros Strike Indicators are designed to be very durable and long-lasting. The closed-cell foam material used in the indicators is resistant to water absorption and can withstand exposure to the sun, which means that they will last for a long time with proper care. Although durable it is important to mention that the one flaw that we can find in this product is that the foam can be dented if not stored properly. This has not impacted our ability to catch fish but will change how it sits on the surface of the water. Be sure to store in a hard cover storage where the foam will not be pressed against.

    5. Versatile: Oros Strike Indicators can be used in a wide variety of fishing situations, including still water, rivers, and streams. There are currently three sizes offered, small, medium, and large. When choosing which sizes is best we think about presentation, type of water and weight of flies.

Overall, Oros Strike Indicators are a high-quality, sensitive, and durable strike indicator that can help anglers detect even the most subtle strikes from fish. They are easy to use and can be adjusted quickly to different depths, making them a versatile and valuable tool for any fly angler. If you haven't made the switch be believe its time!
